My name is Alan Petty. I am currently based at Woodland School but also provide my services to other schools within our federation, as well as to schools in the wider area. I value the unique position of small schools to create real learning communities where all are supported and nurtured to bloom to the best of their abilities.
I have worked in education for 20 years, in a range of primary schools, both large and small, within a range of communities. During this time, I have also worked with regional and national bodies to develop, and deliver, initial and early career teacher training, as well as provide continue professional development to in-service teachers. For most of this time, I have also served as a staff governor.
I have a specialism in primary Art and Design and continue my artistic practice outside of school; mostly through analogue cine and still photography, ceramics and kiln fused glass. My other major interest is music and I love playing the piano.
