My name is Rachel Harmer, and I am the deputy headteacher, SENCO and KS1 teacher at Butterknowle and a co-opted governor of The Dales Partnership.
I have taught at Butterknowle since 2003, prior to this I worked in a large primary in Kent. I feel privileged that throughout my time at Butterknowle I have been part of developing the nursery and have had seen the school continue to develop as part of the local and wider community.
Playing a part in the journey of the children of Butterknowle is the most rewarding part of being a teacher, seeing them develop and grow by providing a range of experiences as well as nurturing them as individuals.
Being a governor for The Dales Partnership is just the next chapter and one that will develop the community of Butterknowle school alongside Frosterley and Woodland.
